The Golden State Warriors picked up their 34th win of the season on Tuesday night on the road against the New York Knicks. Of course, the Warriors entered the game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the deadline and despite being down in the third quarter, they were able to defeat the Knicks 114-102 to continue their dominant stretch.
Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State as he had another remarkable game despite being questionable to play with an ankle injury. He recorded 28 points, seven rebounds and nine assists to lead the Warriors to another win.
This was just another incredible performance by Curry, who has had quite a few throughout his future Hall of Fame career. After the game, NBA legend and current TNT analyst Shaquille O'Neal made a bold statement regarding Curry.
"I played with LeBron (James), with Kobe (Bryant), against MJ (Michael Jordan). Start putting Stephen Curry in the G.O.A.T. conversation," O'Neal said
Of course, Curry has been labeled as the greatest shooter of all time as he has knocked down the most three-pointers in NBA history, but his accolades have also made him one of the greatest players in league history.
Curry is a four-time champion, 11-time All-Star and 10-time All-NBA selection and two-time MVP winner. He is also one of the greatest point guards in NBA history and he still has a few more years left in his career. Even at 36 years old, Curry is still one of the best players in the league and he has the Warriors positioned to make another run at a title this season.
Because of this and the amount of records and accolades he has won thus far, it is fair for O'Neal to make the statement that he did and there is no doubt that by the time Curry retires, he will be known as one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA.
