Shaquille O'Neal Quickly Humbled by Ernie Johnson After Strange Knicks vs. Pistons Take

The New York Knicks dropped Game Two of their first round series against the Detroit Pistons in New York City on Monday in a game that included a zero-point second half from the man known as KAT, Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns' Knicks are now deadlocked with the Pistons in a 1-1 tie heading to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit for Thursday night's Game Three.

Following Monday night's game, 'Inside the NBA' host Shaquille O'Neal shared a surprisingly positive take on Towns that came after his losing effort against the Pistons.

His take was quickly followed up by comments from host Ernie Johnson that humbled O'Neal in short order, causing him to react.

The sequence began as the show showed a clip of Towns driving the left baseline past the Pistons defense for an early game slam dunk.

O'Neal watched the play and shared his thoughts on Towns.

"He played like a real big man tonight. I'm happy for 'Dark Kat,' O'Neal said.

"Well he did in the first half, he didn't score in the second half," Johnson replied with emotion in his voice.

"Oh, wow," O'Neal quickly replied, surprised at Johnson's revelation.

O'Neal came under fire earlier this year for incorrectly stating that the Detroit Pistons were coached by 2004 Finals MVP and franchise legend Chauncey Billups, who coaches the Portland Trail Blazers.

He also called the Pistons "boring" and admitted he doesn't watch their games.
