SEC teams conclude their regular-season schedules in Week 14 with all but two of the league members involved in traditional rivalry games. The renewal of the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry after a hiatus of 12 seasons will decide the team that will play Georgia in the SEC Championship Game next week. But other Week 14 games have championship implications, too, as Georgia and Tennessee try to protect their positions as two-loss teams in the CFP rankings and Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina hope for a victory and some breaks to make it into the bracket with three losses. Here are 10 stats from SEC Football by the Numbers, along with the schedule, TV and betting lines, to get ready for Week 14:
3 Road wins for South Carolina this season, with the Gamecocks visiting Clemson on Saturday. South Carolina hasn’t won four games on its opponent’s home field in the same season since 2006. The Gamecocks have won at Kentucky, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt in 2024. In 2006, South Carolina won at Mississippi State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Clemson to post four road wins in a season for the third time in school history. The Gamecocks also would do something they’ve never done by winning on Saturday. With Clemson ranked 12th in this week’s Associated Press Poll, South Carolina will have the opportunity to defeat a fourth ranked opponent this season. The Gamecocks have never beaten four ranked opponents in the same season. South Carolina defeated No. 10 Texas A&M 44-20 on Nov. 2, No. 24 Vanderbilt 28-7 on Nov. 9 and No. 24 Missouri 34-30 on Nov. 16.
5 Week 14 games involving SEC teams have been contested at least 118 times – Georgia Tech-Georgia in the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate Game, Mississippi State-Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl, South Carolina-Clemson in the Palmetto Bowl, Tennessee-Vanderbilt and Texas-Texas A&M. Four of the games are annual rivalries, but Texas and Texas A&M have not played since 2011. The Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC after the 2011 season, ending the annual meeting with the Longhorns that had run unbroken from the 1915 campaign. In contrast, LSU and Oklahoma will play for the fourth time on Saturday, and for the first time in a regular-season game.
6 Consecutive losses to Auburn for Alabama when the Crimson Tide enters the Iron Bowl off a loss. Alabama lost to Oklahoma 24-3 last week. Alabama most recently defeated Auburn after losing the preceding game in 1998, when the Tide lost to Mississippi State 26-14 on Nov. 14 and defeated the Tigers 31-17 on Nov. 21. This is the first season that Alabama has dropped the game preceding the Iron Bowl since 2007. Overall in the SEC era, Alabama has a 7-13 record against Auburn when the Tide did not win the preceding game. The Tide hasn’t lost back-to-back games since it fell to Auburn 34-28 in the Iron Bowl and to Oklahoma 45-31 in the Sugar Bowl to end the 2013 season. The Tide’s streak of 152 games without consecutive losses is the longest in the nation.
6 Previous meetings between Clemson and South Carolina have featured two teams ranked in The Associated Press Poll in the 88 years of the poll. For their Saturday game, Clemson is 12th and South Carolina 16th in the AP poll. They met as ranked teams in 1979, 1987, 2000, 2011, 2012 and 2013, with South Carolina winning five times. Clemson’s victory came in the 2000 contest.
18 Games have been played by Missouri since an opposing receiver had at least 100 yards versus the Tigers. On Saturday, Missouri will face Arkansas WR Andrew Armstrong, one of the SEC’s two 1,000-yard receivers this season. Armstrong has four 100-yard outings and has averaged 101.2 receiving yards per game in 2024. The most recent player to reach 100 receiving yards against Missouri is Malik Nabers, who had six receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown in LSU’s 49-39 victory over the Tigers on Oct. 7, 2023.
25 Consecutive victories for Alabama over Auburn when the Crimson Tide enters the Iron Bowl with a record at least three games better than the Tigers’ mark. Alabama carries an 8-3 record to Saturday’s game against 5-6 Auburn. Since the rivalry resumed in 1948, only one Auburn team has won the Iron Bowl with a record at least three games worse than the Tide’s mark. In 1949, the 1-4-3 Tigers upended 6-2-1 Alabama 14-13.
27 Consecutive non-conference regular-season games have been won by Georgia and 23 consecutive non-conference regular-season games have been won by Kentucky – the two longest such streaks in the nation. The teams will put their streaks on the line on Saturday, when the Bulldogs play Georgia Tech and the Wildcats play Louisville. Georgia Tech was the most recent non-conference opponent to defeat Georgia in a regular-season game on Nov. 26, 2016, when the Yellow Jackets took a 28-27 victory. Louisville was the most recent non-conference opponent to defeat Kentucky in a regular-season game on Nov. 25, 2017, when the Cardinals took a 44-17 victory. Georgia’s winning streak includes six victories over Georgia Tech, and Kentucky’s winning streak includes five victories over Louisville.
100 Years of football at Tiger Stadium, when LSU takes on Oklahoma on Saturday one century and three days after the first game at the Baton Rouge facility. On Thanksgiving in 1924, LSU played its first game in the stadium – a 13-0 loss to Tulane. Since then, LSU has won 72 percent of their games at the Tiger Stadium.
180 Pounds will be lifted in celebration by the winning team after the game between Arkansas and Missouri. That’s the weight of the Battle Line Trophy, which has been awarded to the winner of the Razorbacks-Tigers game annually since 2015. Missouri has a 7-2 advantage over Arkansas in Battle Line games.
424 Points have been scored and 5,859 yards have been gained by Ole Miss this season to lead the SEC in both categories. The Rebels’ Saturday opponent, Mississippi State, has yielded 383 points and 5,080 yards in 2024, the worst defensive statistics in the SEC. MSU has given up 102 more points than any other team in the conference this season.
