The Seattle Seahawks are going have a new-look offense in 2025.
Gone are the trio of Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett. Early in the offseason, the Seahawks decided to trade both Smith and Metcalf, while releasing Lockett.
To replace them, Seattle has made two big moves already.
One was signing former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract. After that, the Seahawks brought in former Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Cooper Kupp on a three-year, $45 million deal.
Now, Seattle simply needs to build their offense out a bit more around Darnold and that could come in the 2025 NFL draft.
A new prediction about what the Seahawks could do next would be great news for Darnold.
Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports has released a new four-round mock draft following the frenzy of free agency. With the No. 18 overall pick, he has Seattle drafting Ohio State Buckeyes standout wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.
"Offensive line has been the popular pick here for a while (and with good reason), but after trading away DK Metcalf and releasing Tyler Lockett, the Seahawks need a long-term investment at receiver beyond the aging and banged-up Cooper Kupp," Easterling wrote. "Egbuka is a polished route-runner who would make an immediate and sustained impact."
Egbuka was a big part of Ohio State's national championship win last season. He has proven himself to be a playmaker and consistent threat.
During the 2024 season with the Buckeyes, Egbuka racked up 81 receptions for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Adding Egbuka would give the Seahawks a wide receiver trio of Kupp, Egbuka, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, which would be an excellent supporting cast for Darnold.
