The Seahawks preseason opener should bring plenty of excitement to Lumen Field when the Las Vegas Raiders, led by new head coach Pete Carroll, come to Seattle.
Carroll is in his first year as the coach of the Raiders after spending 14 seasons with the Seahawks from 2010-2023, and he won't be the only notable former Seahawk involved in that game, as the Raiders also added quarterback Geno Smith in a trade earlier this offseason.
The Seahawks will stay at home in Week 2 of the preseason and face another of their former AFC West rivals, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs, then will finish their preseason with a trip to Green Bay to face the Packers.
Dates and times of preseason games, which will all air locally on KING 5, will be announced at a later date.
While no plans for joint practices have been announced as of yet, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald did say earlier this offseason that he liked having his team practice with the Titans in Nashville last summer, and would like to again have his team take part in joint practices, perhaps doing so ahead of Seattle's road preseason game as well as one of their home games. Carroll, whose teams did not do joint practices throughout his tenure in Seattle, said on Seattle Sports 710 AM that he still does not plan to do so in his new job, so if the Seahawks were going to host joint practices ahead of a home preseason game, it would likely have to be with the Chiefs.
