Seahawks-Giants injury report: Promising news for banged up Seahawks defense

The Thursday injury report is out for the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants, and it’s good news for the Seahawks defense.

While Byron Murphy II remains out due to a hamstring injury and probably won’t play this weekend, the other notable injured players appear to be in better shape to return to the field. Boye Mafe was a non-participant in Wednesday’s walkthrough but upgraded to limited participation on Thursday. Leonard Williams and Uchenna Nwosu were listed as limited participants for the second day in a row. It’s looking more likely than not that Nwosu will make his season debut either this weekend or on Thursday against the San Francisco 49ers. Linebacker Jerome Baker may be inching closer to a return to the lineup after his hamstring injury.

Perhaps most encouraging is safety Julian Love, who was ruled out with a thigh contusion on Monday against the Detroit Lions, was a full Thursday participant. Barring a setback, it seems he won’t miss any time.

Meanwhile, the Giants are probably not going to have star rookie receiver Malik Nabers available this Sunday due to his concussion.
