Seahawks future schedule has Seattle facing Pete Carroll sooner than later

12s already know who the Seattle Seahawks will play in the 2025 season, but fans do not yet know the dates of those games. The schedule will be released sometime in the middle of May. Next season's schedule will not include Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders, though, unless both teams end up in the Super Bowl (wouldn't that be something?).

Each NFL has a rotating schedule, of course. Next season, Seattle will play the teams from the NFC South, AFC South, and each team from the NFC West twice. Not on the schedule, of course, is the AFC West and Carroll's Raiders.

For 12s to see that matchup, unless the teams play a meaningless preseason game, they will need to wait until 2026, so only a couple of years away. The issue is that Carroll and his new team (which could include Russell Wilson if Las Vegas signs the quarterback in free agency this offseason) will host the Seahawks. For 12s to see the game and watch Carroll coach against his former team, fans will have to travel.

Seattle Seahawks 2026 schedule will be 12s first chance to see Pete Carroll coaching against his former team

That is the expectation at this point, of course. Maybe things will change because the NFL has to know what a great piece of eye candy a Pete Carroll return to Lumen Field to try to beat the Seahawks would be.

In 2026, Seattle will play every team from the AFC West and NFC East. Some of the projected home games are going to be fun ones. Assuming Brian Schottenheimer does a decent job as the new Dallas Cowboys head coach, the former Seahawks offensive coordinator will bring his team to Seattle. The Kansas City Chiefs will also visit Lumen Field.

Seattle's expected road games could be rough. The team will travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, both of whom made the NFC Championship game this season. Maybe in two seasons from now, the teams will not be as good. One can hope.

Of course, by then, Seattle might also be much better. The team went 10-7 this season (the only team to win double-digit games and not make the playoffs), and head coach Mike Macdonald appeared to finally be getting his defense where he wanted in the second half of the season. The question will be who the Seahawks quarterback is (maybe still Geno Smith) and if DK Metcalf is still with the team.
