The Seattle Seahawks remain busy as the offseason slows just a bit around the NFL. As they await the release of their full schedule for the upcoming regular season, they're looking at free agents who could help them win games in the near future.
Seahawks visit with CB Rasul Douglas
According to Tom Pelissero, the Seahawks are visiting with veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas on Tuesday. The experienced defensive back has played snaps both inside and outside during his NFL career. He was on the field plenty in 2024, totaling 831 snaps for the Buffalo Bills. That was 37th in the NFL.
Douglas recently visited the Miami Dolphins as well but did not reach a deal with the team.
There is no doubting that Seattle remains interested on the free agent market. They aren't content with how their roster currently sits and sees some options to potentially upgrade, particularly in their secondary.
Douglas is not the first veteran cornerback that the Seahawks have shown recent interest in since the 2025 NFL Draft concluded.
A focus on the secondary for Mike Macdonald
Seattle also recently held discussions with CB Shaquille Griffin. The CB began his pro career with the Seahawks.
The Seattle Seahawks are not settled even if the first wave of free agency and the draft are now gone. According to ESPN insiders Jeremy Fowler and Brady Henderson, the Seahawks are having discussions with free agent cornerback Shaquill Griffin, well-known among Seattle fans, on a potential reunion.
Last year for the Vikings, he played 572 defensive snaps (50.35%), starting three games but being a frequent option on Brian Flores' depth chart. However, Minnesota decided not to retain him. Griffin was solid, allowing a 73.8 passer rating when targeted.-- Wendell Ferreira
Griffin is 29 years old, while Douglas is 30 years old.
Mike Macdonald continues to seek proven commodities that can provide depth on the back end of his defensive unit.
