Scout Urges Cowboys To Draft 330-Pound ‘Total Package’ in Round 1

The Dallas Cowboys draft needs, for most, are rather simple with receiver and running back the two most talked-about positions.

But with the Cowboys holding the No. 12 pick we have heard some offensive line chatter over the past couple of weeks, with Zack Martin retiring, and losing Tyron Smith a year ago, so there is some uncertainty there.

Yes, Dallas signed Robert Jones, Saahdiq Charles, and Hakeem Adeniji, but they are seen as potential depth pieces who might push Brock Hoffman or T.J. Bass at the guard position.

For Bucky Brooks, who does have a scouting background, taking an offensive lineman like Armand Membou should be seriously considered by the Cowboys.

"They need to replace some of the guys that have gone, Zack Martin walked out the door this year, you lost Tyron Smith a year ago, so you got to find someone upfront that can do it," Brooks said on NFL Insiders. "Armand Membou could be interesting in terms of his athleticism, size, and total package that he brings. This is a physical dude with great movement skills."

The move to draft a lineman isn't sexy, and would leave Dallas without star help for CeeDee Lamb, but with Brian Schottenheimer's desire to run the football, Brooks stated, you need people movers, and that is Membou.

The Cowboys will be a run-heavy offense under Schottenheimer, and to run the ball well, you need a solid offensive line to keep pounding the rock and picking up yards.

Is Dallas' current offensive line good enough to do that? Brooks has his doubts, but they are cast away if Membou comes to The Star.
