The Raiders could use some help at cornerback between now and the start of the season, and it’s no secret that Jalen Ramsey is squarely on the trade block in Miami.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter offered an update on Ramsey’s situation on Friday, and he believes the veteran cornerback is targeting a team on the west coast.
“The Dolphins continue to have conversations about trading Jalen Ramsey, and I think that a trade there will get done,” Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show.
“The question is, when does it get done? Does it get done next week, the week after, prior to the start of training camp? I don’t know exactly when it’s going to be, but Jalen Ramsey will get traded. It’ll be, I would expect, before the start of training camp.”

“We’ll see how it shakes out, where he goes,” Schefter continued. “I think he would like to go to the West Coast, to the Los Angeles Chargers, somewhere like that. And we’ll see how that happens.”
It was reported this week that Ramsey is not on the Raiders’ radar, but if the Chargers are one of the teams he has his eye on, his situation is definitely one to watch.
Ramsey will turn 31 during the 2025 season and he is still at a point in his career where he can play at a high level. From the Raiders’ standpoint, they are invested in third-round pick Darien Porter, so they may be hesitant to add a high-profile player at cornerback.
Adding a cornerback like Ramsey would potentially push back the timeline for Porter and that might be a situation Pete Carroll and the decision makers in Las Vegas aren’t interested in signing up for at this point.
