When the 2025 season schedule came out, it was pretty clear that the NFL messed up for both the Las Vegas Raiders and maybe even themselves due to other previously scheduled conflicting events.
The Raiders have a pretty decent schedule for the 2025 season. They have three primetime games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys. And, they have the perfect bye week in Week 8, right in the middle of the season. Like every schedule, they have a rough stretch and an easy stretch.
But, there is a game on the schedule that could see the Raiders get little fan attendance for a few reasons. And, that could mean total attendance, or just Raiders fans in attendance. And, with teams like the Las Vegas Raiders, who are in a major tourist destination like Las Vegas, that's just not a good thing at all.
There are at least two other major sporting events going on in town that weekend, and one of them will have traffic almost completely shut down the whole weekend.
Raiders' Week 12 game could have fan issues
When the Raiders host the Cleveland Browns in Week 12 on November 23, there are some other things in town, specifically the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix going on Nov. 20, 21 and 22. The 20 and 21 will be the practice and qualifying sessions, which still get a ton of fan attendance, and the actual race is late at night on the 22 going into midnight and finishing early in the AM of the 23.
So, no, that event is not at the same time as the 1 PM kickoff vs. the Browns. However, when F1 does these races on street circuits like the Las Vegas strip, they shut down roads hours before and after the races and events so that they can get everything ready. This is going to make traffic terrible for the Raiders game and just terrible all weekend in general, making fans not want to get out and about.
Not to mention, you could say that fans visiting the F1 race may be intrigued to go to the Raiders game, but that would just cause more non-Raiders fans to show up, only proving the point more that Las Vegas doesn't have a home-field advantage. And let's be honest, the Raiders are the most expensive tickets for families on average in the NFL. The Las Vegas F1 race is one of the more expensive ones. Not everyone will want to do both when the F1 race ends at the time it does and the game starts at the time it does.
Then on Nov. 22, the UNLV Rebels football team plays Hawaii at Allegiant Stadium. This will also have the Raiders' staff crazy busy getting the stadium back ready for their game.
