Scheana Shay has something to celebrate—sort of. The “Vanderpump Rules” star turned author has landed a coveted spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list with her new memoir “My Good Side,” debuting at No. 4 in the nonfiction category. But while the achievement is a major win, it comes with a tiny footnote—and a dagger.
Scheana Shay Lands a Bestseller—With an Asterisk

“My Good Side” debuted on the list with a dagger symbol (†), according to a screenshot shared by Bravo and Cocktails, which indicates that a “significant number of copies” were purchased via bulk orders. This often means that books were bought in large quantities—sometimes by the author, publisher, or affiliated groups—for promotional use, giveaways, or events.
Stassi Schroeder, another “Vanderpump Rules” alum, faced similar scrutiny when her own book made the list under the same symbol. Still, fans and insiders argue it doesn’t lessen the accomplishment.
“Clearly, if they didn’t project large sales, the publishing company wouldn’t make a large preorder,” Bravo and Cocktails noted. “It is still a big success for Scheana.”
Taking to Instagram to share her big New York Times win, Shay said she was left “SPEECHLESS” by the news. Follow Bravoleb and New York Times bestseller, Hannah Berner, wrote, “SO PROUD OF YOUUUUUUUU.”
Kyle Cooke added, “Congrats 🔥🙌❤️ that’s awesome!!!! Listening to audio version on the way to summer house.”

Shay’s book tour is in full swing, and despite mixed online reviews, fans attending the shows are raving about the experience. “I went to a sold-out show in Pittsburgh last night,” one fan shared. “It was a good show, a lot of audience participation.”
Another added on TikTok, “Just at the [Pittsburgh] show and it was crowded.” One fan in Pennsylvania even praised the energy, saying, “It was awesome 👏🏼.”
Tickets are still available for her Cincinnati stop on Monday, August 4th, where friend Zack Wickham is also expected to appear. And yes—there’s a music moment too. Shay’s new single “Misunderstood” doubles as the theme for her book tour.
During a Q&A, shared by Vanderpump Rules Party on Instagram, Shay was asked the question on every Bravoholic’s mind: What’s next?
Beaming, she responded, “More Bravo!”
While remaining tight-lipped about specifics, Shay hinted that more TV is on the horizon. “The book, the [book] tour, and eventually I’ll put out some new music, just for fun. But I will absolutely be back on your TVs in 2026,” she teased.
Rumors have swirled about Shay and husband Brock Davies joining “The Valley” in season 3, especially after Jax Taylor’s dismissal.
“My Good Side” is available now wherever books are sold. Shay’s book tour continues throughout August. Catch “Vanderpump Rules” on Peacock, and stay tuned for more updates about Scheana Shay’s future on “The Valley” season 3.
