The Giants' decision not to go all-in to keep running back Saquon Barkley on their roster beyond the 2023 season might go down as one of the worst moves of the last decade. It has put a lot of pressure on the current organization to build a team good enough to help fans forget what they've lost, especially after seeing Barkley win a Super Bowl with the Eagles right away.
The fallout between the team and the player, however, is not something that will be going away any time soon, and Barkley is sure to remind us about that when he gets the opportunity. It's an understandable thing, though, because the Giants were the ones to draft him and apparently overlooked his value.
But it looks like they're not the only team he will have circled on his calendar every year now.
Saquon Barkley makes it clear that his hostility isn't limited to just the Giants
While speaking to streamer Janky Rondo in recent days, Barkley was asked about teams that reached out to him when it was clear he would not be returning to New York for another season. He inevitably signed with a divisional rival in the Eagles, which has already proven to be a deal of the century. So did other NFC East teams reach out, too?
According to Barkley, he did not hear from the Commanders or the Cowboys; therefore, they have since joined the Giants as teams to seek revenge on.

This isn't anything new, necessarily, since he was on the Giants for five years before signing with the Eagles, so he has consistently been productive against the divisional teams regardless. But Barkley was particularly impressive against the Cowboys last year, as he recorded 45 receptions for 233 yards in their two matchups.
He was far better against the Commanders, which is more surprising considering they ended their 2024 season in the NFC Championship. Barkley recorded 55 carries for 296 yards and four rushing touchdowns against them in the regular season, completely dominating them in every sense of the word.
That will inevitably continue, and their decision to skip out on making him an offer is likely what helps fuel him even more in those games.
Unfortunately, that appears to be a factor in his performances against the Giants, as well. In the one game he played against his former team last year, he totaled 17 carries for 176 yards and a score, putting together another impressive performance on his way to being named to his first First-Team All-Pro, third Pro Bowl, and winning Offensive Player of the Year honors, just as another dagger in the heart of every Giants fan.
Hopefully, the improvements made to the Giants' defensive line will help shut down Barkley in their next matchups this fall because we don't want to see another domination from a player that will forever feel like he got away.
