The Minnesota Vikings are 8-2 and, with a bad Chicago Bears team next up on their schedule, have a really good opportunity to reach nine wins, with six games still to play. Staying healthy will play a big part in how their 2024 season comes to a finish.
And as of now, mission accomplished (mostly). Christian Darrisaw is out for the season. But star tight end TJ Hockenson, ILB Blake Cashman and guard Dalton Risner, who all missed multiple games earlier in the year, have all been back for weeks. But that doesn’t mean the Vikings injury report is totally clean.
Minnesota Vikings injury report – Week 12 (Wednesday)
As expected, TE Josh Oliver did not practice on Wednesday, but he was the only DNP (Did Not Practice) to start the week. The first Minnesota Vikings injury report of the week did have two players limited, defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard (Toe) and quarterback Sam Darnold (Foot).
RB Aaron Jones (Ribs) was the only other 53-man roster player listed today. He was a “Full” participant, however. Gabe Murphy is going on his third week of his 21-day window to return from the PUP List. Tight End Nick Muse just started his 21-day practice window. This is his first appearance on the injury report.
Sam Darnold’s foot injury may have limited him at practice on Wednesday, but it is not expected to keep him off the field on Sunday. All accounts have Darnold as a full-go in Chicago, as the Minnesota Vikings try to reach 9-2 on the season.
It is a little surprising to see Aaron Jones show up, but as a full participant. The Vikings first half offensive co-MVP has been a shell of himself in recent weeks, after taking hits to his ribs and dealing with multiple injuries.
Josh Oliver is not expected to play in week 12, but should be back sooner, rather than later, according to Darren Wolfson (SKOR North). If you have TJ Hockenson on your fantasy football team, start him vs the Bears this weekend, because he will eat up most of those extra snaps.
