If Russell Wilson is anything like he was as an All-Pro player with the Seattle Seahawks, the New York Giants will be thrilled that their quarterback problems are coming to an end.

That remains extremely unlikely, though. And the other teams in the NFC East are thrilled about that.

Take Washington, which is trying to work and repeat as a playoff team for the first time in over two decades. Or the Dallas Cowboys, who have a habit beating up on the Giants. Or the Philadelphia Eagles, who are after all the Super Bowl champs.

Especially now that Wilson is expected to be the starter for Big Blue. ... there is a focus on him and on his team's No. 1 need.

"I expect to be the starter and come in here and be ready to rock and roll every day," Wilson said on the Zoom conference with media. "I think this team is looking for someone to lead them in every way, in terms of the process, offseason, during the season, our habits and our thought process and how we create a great winning culture, and how do we continue to establish that, and to really build on all the things we do well, and the things we continue to need to do."

As things stand, the NFC East should be able to outlast a team like the Giants even if Wilson is somewhat close to his All-Pro past.

"It's my 14th year to be able to lead an amazing group of men that really have big hopes and goals and dreams and desires, and we all share the same goal," Wilson said. "And so I think that's the best part of it is, I get to be around a lot of extremely talented guys."

The NFC East will sure to be another bloodbath once again. The only question is if the Giants will take part in that this year.
