Russell Wilson is eager to steer Brian Daboll's New York Giants offense in 2025.
Following one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson joins his third different team in as many years. The former Seattle Seahawks star signed a one-year contract with the Giants, who revamped their quarterback room after a three-win season. Wilson has the inside track on New York's QB1 job over Jameis Winston and first-round pick Jaxson Dart.
Wilson recently discussed his new team on the 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony podcast. The 36-year-old credited Daboll's "brilliant mind" as part of his reasoning for choosing the Giants in free agency.
"Here with Dabes, I'm excited because his offensive wizardry is really special," Wilson said (h/t NFL.com). "Him and [offensive coordinator Mike] Kafka, a guy who played quarterback in the league, just the rest of the staff, too ... People that I know and people that I believe in. I'm excited about the opportunity to play in this great organization."
Daboll helped develop Josh Allen into a star as the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator before guiding Daniel Jones to a breakout campaign in 2022, his first season as New York's head coach. However, the Giants have since slipped substantially, finishing 29th and 30th in total offense over the last two seasons.

Wilson isn't afraid to accept the tall talk of bringing Big Blue back to relevancy in a major media market.
"I don't shy away from any challenge. Anybody who really knows me knows I don't blink in the face of adversity," Wilson said. "I don't blink in any obstacle or any challenge, so I actually look forward to them. I think that a lot of times, the best way to find greatness is to run through it."
Wilson also noted his special connection to MetLife Stadium. In 2014, the Pro Bowler led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory at the New Jersey venue. He insisted the Giants have the roster to make a championship run.
"I fundamentally believe it's possible again in terms of just being successful again and being at the highest level," Wilson said. "I think we got the right guys. ... There's a lot of good pieces to it, and it's a show."
