As the Seahawks embark on their search for a new offensive coordinator, the “once worked for Sean McVay” coaching pipeline appears to remain a strong foundation for candidates.
The first name reported was that of the offensive line coach for the Detroit Lions, Hank Fraley, and shortly afterwards a Super Bowl winning Assistant Head Coach was also added to the list of interviewees.
For those who may not be familiar with Thomas Brown, he started the 2024 season as the Passing Game Coordinator for the Chicago Bears. However, that position was short lived, and when Chicago fired then offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, Brown was promoted into that role.
That, though, proved to also be short lived, and when the Bears opted to move on from head coach Matt Eberflus, Brown was named interim head coach for the final five games of the season.
Prior to his time in Chicago, Brown spent the 2023 season as the Passing Game Coordinator for the Carolina Panthers after having been the Assistant Head Coach and a position coach for the Los Angeles Rams for a pair of seasons, including the Super Bowl winning 2021 campaign.
