The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice has found herself in hot water with the IRS yet again as the reality star has been slapped with a new $17K tax lien.

According to financial records from the Morris County Clerk’s Office, the new lien was filed back in April of this year and is for taxes and penalties owed for the years 2020 and 2021, per The US Sun.

Though the lien was filed in April, court documents show that Teresa wasn’t notified of the impending injunction until May 3. Since being made aware, the RHONJ OG’s rep has issued a statement claiming that Teresa has her finances under control and is actively making payments to resolve her debt issues.

“Ms. Giudice has been aware of her tax obligations for years and makes significant timely monthly payments towards her outstanding tax liabilities and will continue to do so until those liabilities do not exist,” her rep, James J. Leonard Jr., stated via Page Six.

The latest tax lien is just another debt that has been added to Teresa’s long list of debts that she has to repay.

Back in April 2016, Teresa and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, got a lien for $243,425.50 for 2014. And in May 2016, they were hit with a lien for $219,804.38 for 2015.

Dating further back, the former couple was also hit with a massive $551,563.30 tax lien in October 2015 for the years 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2013.

According to The Sun, the Morris County Clerk’s Office doesn’t have releases filed for the outstanding taxes, bringing the total amount allegedly owed to upwards of $1 million.

Teresa does seem to be paying some of her tax bills, as just in May 2022, she paid off a lien that was in her name in the amount of $363,120 for the 2011 and 2012 years.

Teresa has been in the midst of financial troubles for years, stemming from her entering a guilty plea to bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, and failure to pay taxes in March 2014.

Teresa and Joe confessed to hiding assets from creditors and submitting false loan applications in order to secure more than $5 million in mortgage and construction loans.

As a result, Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison.

Upon her release, her attorney told Page Six at the time, “For the last few months we have been in contact with the appropriate agencies regarding the outstanding tax liabilities.”

Despite owing Uncle Sam substantial amounts of money, Teresa and her new husband, Luis Ruelas, are still living a lavish lifestyle.

The couple is currently residing in their $3.3 million Montville, New Jersey, mansion, and they have recently taken luxurious vacations to exotic locales, including Puerto Rico and St. Barts.
