Bill Belichick, former general manager of the New England Patriots, is apparently not happy with Tom Brady’s decision to hire Pete Carroll as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. According to ProFootballTalk, Belichick did not like the fact that the Raiders went with Carroll, but this is still not confirmed.
Currently, Bill Belichick is the head football coach with the North Carolina Tar Heels, and accepted the deal only last week. Belichick has plenty of coaching experience on his resume, and was assigned his first head coach role for the Cleveland Browns from 1991 to 1995. In 2000 to 2003, Belichick became the head for the New England Patriots and then joined the UNC Tar Heels recently.
“The talk in league circles is that Belichick wasn’t pleased, to say the least, that Brady’s Raiders went with Carroll. But, again, Belichick can never say that, because it conflicts with the narrative that he’s always been all-in with UNC.” ProFootballTalk reported.
Interestingly, the Las Vegas Raiders actually reached out to Bill Belichick to see if the coach would be ready to join the team as head coach. However, Belichick had already agreed to become the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Bill Belichick Wants Lombardi Trophy To Be Renamed Brady Trophy
In other news, Bill Belichick recently got himself into hot water after saying that he wants the Lombardi Trophy to be renamed the Brady Trophy. According to Belichick, Tom Brady has contributed plenty to the sport and deserved to have the coveted trophy named after him.
In his most recent appearance with the ‘Let’s Go’ podcast, Belichick remarked that it is the players who win games and not the coach. However, his comments were not taken well by listeners of the podcast.
Indeed Tom Brady has made many novel strides and records in the NFL, and is considered by many to be the greatest footballer of all time. Many NFL fans often debate this between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. While Mahomes is leading his to way to their third straight Super Bowl, the quarterback has much more to do if he wants to get to Brady’s level.
Belichick and Brady have plenty of history together and worked together when they were in the New England Patriots. With Belichick and Brady together in their squad, the New England Patriots performed really well in the NFL.
