Back in February, Ben Cleveland, offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens, filed for divorce in Baldwin County, GA, from his wife, Kaitlyn. TMZ reported that after nearly three years of marriage, Cleveland wants to split from his wife due to “adultery.”
Following up on the news, TMZ is now reporting that Kaitlyn Cleveland has vehemently denied the allegations of infidelity. She claims the allegations are baseless, made in “bad faith,” and has gone as far as to call them “knowingly false.”
Cleveland submitted her denial in a court filing on June 5, accusing the Ravens star of lying, and wants to set the record straight. However, Kaitlyn’s lawyers are advising her to submit to the legal process. As their divorce proceedings continue over the coming months, and the start of the 2025 NFL season, Ben Cleveland vs. Kaitlyn Terrell Cleveland is expected to go from messy to ugly.
GettyBen and Kaitlyn Cleveland first met when the former was playing football at the University of Georgia.
The U.S. Sun reported that the pair have been separated since last Christmas. Although neither party referred to this incident in their court filings, Cleveland was arrested on suspicion of a DUI only two weeks before he officially filed for divorce. He has since pleaded not guilty. A trial date of July 5 has been set. There have been no reports of punishment coming from the Ravens.
The DUI charge also occurred during his negotiations on a contract extension with the Ravens. Ben Cleveland ended up re-signing with the Ravens on a one-year, $1.17 million Veteran Salary Benefit (VSB) deal. The contract included no signing bonus and reduced his cap hit to just $1.03 million.
Despite these hardships and divorce, Kaitlyn Cleveland has remained hopeful that she and her separated husband can reach an agreement. She hopes to resolve the “matters and controversies” that still surround their breakup. Kaitlyn has asked the judge to equally split their assets and give her alimony if the two parties cannot reach an agreement.

What started as a private separation and divorce has turned into a high-profile legal battle with serious implications for both parties. Most notably, Cleveland is set to enter his fifth year in the NFL, which has turned into a make-or-break season for him.
Over his four years with the Ravens, he has appeared in 54 regular-season games but started just 7. A report from PFF.com estimated that Cleveland saw a total of just 49 offensive snaps last season. He ranks 117th out of 136 starting guards in the NFL. If Ben Cleveland wants to stay with the Ravens, he will need a lot more playing time.
As of now, Cleveland is listed as the primary backup left guard behind Andrew Vorhees on the depth chart. If Vorhees gets hurt, Cleveland could be relied on for more offensive snaps. Patrick Mekari leaving the team for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason may also open more playing time for Cleveland.
For a range of reasons, Ben Cleveland will have the most important season of his life in 2025. It’s been said that divorce shows “good people at their worst.” If Ben Cleveland can focus on Ravens football, he could receive a much better contract offer from them in 2026.
