Ravens Cornerback Labeled Prime Breakout Candidate

The Baltimore Ravens selected Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins with the 30th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he had a very solid rookie season.

But some think he could improve even more and be a force to be reckoned with in his second season.

Ravens Cornerback Labeled Prime Breakout Candidate

In a recent article by PFF's Bradley Locker, he puts together a team full of player who he thinks could step up in a big way in 2025. And one of the players he mentions is the young Ravens defensive back.

"From Week 7 onward, Wiggins earned a 69.4-plus PFF coverage grade in six of 12 contests. Throughout the broader season, the former Clemson Tiger ranked in the 70th percentile in both PFF coverage grade at outside cornerback (70.9) and in forced incompletion rate (12.7%)," Locker wrote. "With Brandon Stephens now a Jet, Wiggins should net a full year of starting outside next to Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton. Given how promising the early results were for Wiggins, his potential is high, even as early as this season."

The 21-year-old cornerback came in and was able to learn alongside guys like Humphrey and Hamilton, and it showed in his play.

Wiggins finished his rookie season with 33 total tackles and 25 solo in just six games started. He was also able to show his ball-hawk skills with an interception and 13 passes defended.

The Ravens are coming off of a loss in the playoffs to the Buffalo Bills, so Wiggins and the rest of the defense will be looking to help the team redeem themselves.
