Random Ramsdom: See this prediction from USA Today

A USA Today writer Nate Davis predicted the Los Angeles Rams to make the playoffs this year, but ultimately their season will end at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. You can read more about the prediction below and if you can, please let us know what you think in the comments section! Predictions are fun and they get the people going so I have no problem with this one. I will say the Rams fan in me sure does hope they don’t lose the Niners in the playoffs though!

2024 NFL record projections: Chiefs rule regular season, but is three-peat ahead? (usatoday)

“(6) Los Angeles Rams (10-7): For the second straight year, they enter the season with major questions on defense – this time due to the retirement of Aaron Donald and the departure of Morris, who’d been the coordinator since 2021. But the Rams invested heavily on that side of the ball in the draft while reallocating copious cap resources into the offensive line. And if WR Cooper Kupp can play his first full season since a scintillating 2021 showing, LA could have the best receiver tandem in the league if Puka Nacua simply approaches his record-setting rookie effort. October could be a critical stretch given the Rams will be home the entire month.”

USA Today predicts Rams to go 10-7, lose to top-seeded 49ers in playoffs (ramswire)

“The outlook is much better in 2024, even following the retirement of Aaron Donald.

As such, USA Today’s Nate Davis sees the Rams finishing above .500 again and getting back to the playoffs for the second straight year. He released his record predictions for each team in the NFL and he has the Rams going 10-7, finishing second in the division and earning a wild-card spot.

Davis even predicts the Rams will win a playoff game, picking them over the third-seeded Eagles in the wild-card round.

Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. In the divisional round, Davis has the Rams losing to the top-seeded 49ers, who would be fresh off a bye and hosting Sean McVay’s squad at Levi’s Stadium.”

Rams exercising their right to restrict Saints and Raiders training camps in California (ramswire)

“Both the Saints and Raiders are holding their camps in Southern California this summer but there are some caveats, courtesy of the Rams. According to ESPN, the Rams and Chargers invoked an NFL rule that allows them to block other teams from marketing their training camp locally in their area. Therefore, the Raiders can’t welcome fans at their Costa Mesa location, nor can the Saints at UC Irvine – the former home of Rams training camp.

No billboards. No newspaper ads or radio commercials. Las Vegas media can cover camp, but no invites for L.A. or Orange County media. Nor will practices be open to fans, though some VIPs, select season-ticket holders, sponsors and invited guests will be allowed into the Jack Hammett Sports Complex, about 40 miles south of SoFi Stadium.

In that same report from ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, he notes that the Rams and Chargers weren’t happy about the Raiders coming to Southern California and will impose the restrictions that are available to them.”
