The Los Angeles Rams won’t have to worry about defending Davante Adams in Week 7. The Las Vegas Raiders traded him to the New York Jets on Tuesday morning in exchange for a conditional third round pick.
Without Adams, the Raiders’ top receiver essentially becomes rookie tight end Brock Bowers, meaning it could be a devastatingly hard matchup for L.A.’s linebackers and safeties.
The top wide receivers are Jakobi Meyers, who is dealing with an injury, D.J. Turner, Tre Tucker, and Tyreik McAllister.
By most accounts, it seems that the Raiders are giving up. They’ve traded Adams. They’ve switched from Gardner Minshew to Aidan O’Connell, but we always knew that neither of those options would work out well for Las Vegas. They’re handing the ball off to Alexander Mattison and Zamir White. And the rumors about trading Maxx Crosby will persist.
It will be a miracle if Antonio Pierce is still the head coach of the Raiders in a year.
