The Los Angeles Rams have been linked to three-time All-Pro corner Jalen Ramsey seemingly all offseason, as the Miami Dolphins trading him elsewhere seems imminent at this point.
While it's not typically raining All-Pro corners around the NFL, the Rams may have another chance at landing a top-tier corner following Monday's turn of events.
The Green Bay Packers released two-time second-team All-Pro and two-time Pro-Bowl corner, Jaire Alexander, after seven seasons with the team. Presumably, there will be a handful of teams interested in his services, but the Rams may have an inside track thanks to Alexander's relationship with Davante Adams, who the team signed to a two-year deal this offseason.
Before his time with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, Adams started his career with the Packers, where he and Alexander crossed paths. Although corners and wide receivers typically don't like on3 another, Adams told Kay Adams in October how highly he thinks of Alexander.
After Kay Adams asked the star wide receiver why Alexander is so irritating, the new Rams wide out took a shocking stance.
"That is one way to put it," Adams said. "Man I don't know. He's literally one of my favorite people in the world because Jaire is 100% himself since his first year in the league."
He also referenced how antagonistic Alexander can be, explaining he's been that way since his rookie year as well. Although Adams is new to the Rams and may not have as much pull, he can certainly vouch for Alexander.
The Rams have a veteran group of corners headlined by Darious Williams who was a part of their Super Bowl LVI team, and Ahkello Witherspoon who they have signed to multiple one-year deals of the past couple of years.
However, adding Alexander can really raise the ceiling of this defense and team, who came up a few plays short of playing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl last season.
