The Rams' rushing attack could use a boost with Kyren Williams coming off of a strong season but in need of support from the Rams' backup runners.

On Sunday, Rams coach Sean McVay was given the spotlight treatment for something he said during April's 2025 NFL draft.

McVay was caught on camera singing the praises of one of the Rams' most unheralded draft picks who could make a big impact in year one.

"There's no question who I want...That was my top player for today," McVay is heard saying in reference to the man the Rams selected, running back Jarquez Hunter from the Auburn Tigers.

Hunter was arguably the strongest and most powerful running back in the SEC last season with the Tigers as he gained 4.03 yards after contact in 2024, tops in the conference.

A two-year starter with the Tigers, Hunter rushed for 1,201 yards and eight touchdowns on 187 carries last season.

He added 21 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown as a receiver out of the backfield.

Hunter will have to fight for playing time with Williams, Blake Corum, Ronnie Rivers and Cory Schrader if he hopes to see meaningful carries with McVay's team in his first season in the NFL.
