Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers is no stranger to setting records.
During his three years at the University of Georgia, he made a name for himself with numerous standout performances. None were more impressive than when he set the single-season receiving touchdown record at Georgia, catching 13 touchdowns and winning the John Mackey Award twice as the nation's top tight end.
On Sunday, Bowers further solidified his NFL arrival by surpassing wideout Hunter Renfrow for the most receptions through 13 games in Raiders franchise history. In addition, he broke Sam LaPorta's rookie tight end record for most receptions—set just last season—catching his 87th pass of the year. Yes, you read that correctly.
In a Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Bowers broke the record for most receptions in a single game by a rookie tight end with 13.
But wait, there's more . The 6'4", 230-pound talent also joins Hall of Famer Mike Ditka as the only tight ends in the history of the National Football League to reach 900+ receiving yards in their first 13 games of a rookie season.
Many NFL Draft experts predicted Bowers would thrive at the professional level, but few could have anticipated the massive impact he's made, quickly becoming arguably the Raiders' best player in his rookie season. While it’s been a challenging year for the Las Vegas Raiders, they may have found an all-time talent at tight end to build around for years to come.
