Yet, despite the Raiders’ struggles, they did manage to keep it close but it wasn’t enough.

Backup QB Gardner Minshew looked rusty, turning the ball over four times and only passing for 154 yards. The Raiders fell behind early but put two drives together to get back in it before the Rams put the game away. The only bright spot for the Raiders was rookie tight end Brock Browers who had 93 yards receiving.

As for O’Connell’s injury, the team says he has a broken thumb and according to head coach Antonio Pierce, more tests will need to be done before they know the severity of O’Connell’s injury.

Next up for the Raiders is the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs who defeated the San Fransisco 49ers, 28-18.

It will be interesting to see if O’Connell is out for a long time if the Raiders will make any kind of move to get a QB to either backup Minshew, who had a miserable game Sunday, or just someone to replace him until O’Connell returns. It will all depend on how long O’Connell will be out, which we won’t find out for sure on that issue until Monday.
