Raiders predicted to cut ties with Tre Tucker, trade for 975-yard receiver

The Las Vegas Raiders could make a trade for a wide receiver in training camp.

Pro Football Network's Brandon Austin proposes a trade that would send wide receiver Jauan Jennings to the Raiders from the San Francisco 49ers.

Austin's trade proposal has Las Vegas sending receiver Tre Tucker and a 2026 third-round pick to San Francisco for Jennings.

"This move would allow rookie receivers Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton Jr. to develop without the pressure of taking on too much too soon — Jennings’ big-game experience and scheme fit make him an attractive target in the Raiders’ rebuild," Austin wrote.

Jennings wants a new contract from the 49ers and is willing to be traded in order to get his desired deal, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. However, Jennings is present at training camp in San Francisco, and it doesn't look like he plans to hold in or out of practice.

If the 49ers decide to eventually trade Jennings instead of giving him a new deal, Las Vegas would be a logical landing spot. The Tennessee product will likely immediately step in as the No.2 receiver opposite Jakobi Meyers and provide quarterback Geno Smith with another reliable playmaker.

After posting a career year in 2024, where he hauled in 77 receptions for 975 yards and five touchdowns, Jennings deserves a lucrative contract. The Raiders, who need another receiver despite adding Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton in the draft, could trade for Jennings and also give him an extension.

Trading away Tre Tucker to acquire Jennings would be a nice swap for Las Vegas, but giving up a third-round pick is a high price for a receiver that has posted just one productive campaign.
