Raiders Make Sleeper $4 Million Free Agency Move

The Las Vegas Raiders entered the NFL offseason looking to get back into contention in the AFC. After another disappointing season in 2024 that saw them finish the year with a 4-13 record, offseason changes were clearly needed.

Right off the bat to begin the offseason, the Raiders made one big change.

Antonio Pierce was removed from his position as the team's head coach. To replace him, Pete Carroll was hired to a three-year contract.

Immediately after being hired, Carroll spoke out about one characteristic he wanted to bring to Las Vegas.

"It all starts with competition," Carroll said. "You're either competing or you're not. I'm going to make sure that that's really clear to these guys from the moment they get here."

Following the move to hire Carroll, the Raiders began their search to improve the roster. Quite a few moves have happened since, including players leaving and joining the team.

On Tuesday evening, Las Vegas added an intriguing sleeper free agent.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport , the Raiders have agreed to terms with former Green Bay Packers cornerback Eric Stokes on a one-year, $4 million contract.

Stokes, a former first-round pick by the Packers at No. 29 overall in 2021, will look to re-establish his career. He has dealt with injury issues that derailed the beginning of his time with Green Bay.

During the 2024 NFL season with the Packers, Stokes ended up playing in 17 games, recording 41 total tackles. He didn't have any other statistics to note.

In his entire four year tenure in the NFL, Stokes has racked up 128 tackles, one interception, and 14 defended passes.
