Raiders Fans React to Derek Carr Retirement News
There are few quarterbacks in recent NFL history more polarizing than Derek Carr. Early in his career, Carr looked like the savior the Las Vegas Raiders franchise was desperately looking for.
However, after breaking his leg in the 2016 season, he was never able to reach the same heights. He divided many fans, as some thought he was one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, while others thought the Raiders needed to make a change.
In the end, he spent nine seasons with the Raiders and owns every major passing record in franchise history. With the news that he has retired from the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, many Raiders fans had kind things to say.

"I wish a very happy retirement to (Derek Carr). A ton of incredible memories in the Silver and Black. A Hall of Fame person. Looking forward to the next chapter," one fan wrote on X.
"I’ll always remember the good times. Thanks for everything Derek Carr! Once a Raider always a Raider," another fan wrote.
"Man shoutout Derek Carr... Raiders legend !!," a fan wrote.
"Wow I honestly thought Derek could play til 40, I was wrong. Injuries suck. But Derek carr didn't suck. Thank you Derek for your time in the NFL and especially for your time with the Raiders. We could use your help in the organization. And hope you have a happy retirement, enjoy!" another fan wrote.
Some fans would like to see Carr sign a one-day contract with the Raiders, so he could retire as a member of the team, but the Saints still hold his contract rights, so it's not possible.
