Raiders dubbed favorites to land Micah Parsons in potential historic trade with Cowboys

The Las Vegas Raiders have been dubbed as the favorites to land Dallas Cowboys superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons.

According to betting odds, the Raiders are the favorites to trade for Parsons (+500). The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets are tied at second (+600), and the Arizona Cardinals are in the fourth slot (+700).

Parsons requested a trade out of Dallas on Friday due to the lack of movement in contract negotiations. Though the Cowboys have no plans to trade the former No.12 overall pick, they could be forced to, as the relationship between Parsons and the franchise seems completely broken.

Las Vegas has the draft capital to acquire Parsons and is also slated to have $99.1 million in cap space next offseason, per Over the Cap, so they have the money to sign the All-Pro pass rusher to an extension.

Pairing Parsons with Maxx Crosby would make the Raiders' pass rush one of the elite groups in the NFL.

Since entering the league in 2021, Parsons has tallied four straight double-digit sack campaigns and has looked unstoppable for most of his career. The 26-year-old has been selected to four Pro Bowls and earned two first-team All-Pro nods so far in his career.

Crosby is also a dominant force who led the league in tackles for loss in 2022 and 2023. There may not be a more relentless player in football than the Raiders' Pro Bowl edge rusher, who has been a second-team All-Pro selection twice.

A duo of Parsons and Crosby would be electric, but if Las Vegas were to land Parsons, both players would be on top of the market contracts. Crosby signed a three-year extension worth $106 million with the Raiders this offseason, while Parsons' impending extension will likely reset the market.

Having both All-Pro-level pass rushers on deals worth $35 million plus annually could get tricky for Las Vegas. However, Parsons is a generational talent who is about to enter his prime, so Raiders general manager John Spytek would be foolish not to at least look into a trade for the Penn State product.
