Raiders could reunite with $100 million Pro Bowl receiver to help Brock Bowers, Jakobi Meyers image

The Las Vegas Raiders could use another reliable receiver to help out All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers and veteran receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Though the Raiders spent two draft picks on young receivers, Jack Bech in Round 2 and Dont'e Thornton in Round 4, it would be wise for the team to add another experienced pass catcher for quarterback Geno Smith.

Rays vs. Twins Highlights

CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin believes Las Vegas should reunite with Amari Cooper to address their need at wide receiver.

The one area that could still use veteran help is wide receiver, and Cooper knows the franchise well, beginning his career with the Raiders and briefly working alongside current quarterbacks coach Greg Olson. If they're serious about competing immediately under new head man Pete Carroll, it makes sense they'd use some of their excess salary cap space on a pass target.

Cooper started his career with the Raiders in 2014, and he spent three full seasons with the franchise before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys during the 2018 trade deadline. The 31-year-old tallied two 1,000-yard campaigns as a Raider and was also selected to two Pro Bowls with the franchise.

Though Cooper is coming off the worst season of his career in 2024 with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, as he posted career lows in catches (44), yards (547), and touchdowns (4), the five-time Pro Bowler could still be a solid No.3 pass catching option in the Raiders' offense.

The Alabama product won't see much defensive attention if he played with Las Vegas and alongside Bowers and Meyers, which would lead to easy opportunities and a bounce-back campaign for Cooper.

The Raiders, who have revamped the roster this offseason under the new regime of head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek, still have $31 million in cap space. If Cooper is willing to join the offense for a reasonable contract, Las Vegas should sign him and add another savvy playmaker to Chip Kelly's unit.
