‘Pull Up Tape’: CeeDee Lamb Responds To Criticism From Former Dallas Cowboys WR On Social Media

CeeDee Lamb took issue with some posts a former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver made about him this week. The beef started when a workout video of Lamb went viral on social media.

Lamb has been holding out from training with the Cowboys this offseason as he waits for a contract extension from the front office. Lamb is expected to hold out from training camp if the Cowboys don’t extend his contract before practice starts on July 25.

Lamb is keeping himself in shape for the season even though he’s not at the facility. Former Cowboys receiver Cole Beasley responded to a viral post by Brandon Loree showing Lamb working out. Lamb’s special workout is supposed to help the All-Pro receiver with his change of direction in route running, creating separation and yards after catch.

#Cowboys CeeDee Lamb is working on his “explosiveness” with @doctor_reef of Alkeme Sports.

The drills help with “change of direction, creating separation, and YAC.”

“Man just do some heavy squats and power cleans,” Beasley wrote on X.

A self-proclaimed Cowboys fan, @cassidyace89, called Beasley out for the comment:

“Is Cole really trying to tell CeeDee how to train ? Beasley has literally never eclipsed 1k yards. Lamb is averaging 1,286 yards a year and 599 yards short of Cole in 4 years vs 11.”

Beasley, known for arguing with people on X, claimed he could reach 1,000 yards receiving if he had as many targets as Lamb gets.

Give me 180 targets off the couch and I eclipse 1000. Stop looking at stats and check the tape. As far as getting open goes…I’m confident I did that with the best of them, Beasley wrote.

Lamb tells Beasley to chill

Beasley’s comment grabbed the attention of Lamb, who hadn’t posted to X since March. Lamb bragged he didn’t need 180 targets to reach 1,000 yards receiving:

“I don’t need 180 targets to touch a band. Pull up tape, I’d match you route for route on getting open. Just Chill. @Bease11,” Lamb wrote.

Lamb seems defensive about his abilities. This makes sense, given that the Cowboys’ front office is likely throwing every excuse they can at him to keep his salary as low as possible in an exploding receiver market.

By the way, there’s a reason why Lamb gets a high number of targets. He’s the Cowboys’ best playmaker on offense.

Beasley offered Lamb a response Friday evening.

“I never said you did. Just some perspective for the fans,” Beasley said.
