The Minnesota Vikings only hold four picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. As of this writing, they own their first-round pick (24th overall), third-round pick, fifth-round pick, and sixth-round pick. That's it.
The lack of draft picks for the Vikings could make a move down from the 24th pick to either later in the first round or out of round one altogether that much easier of a decision to make. Rather than only being armed with four picks, why not move down and add at least a pick or two?
That's exactly what Chad Reuter of NFL.com proposed in his latest write-up of potential draft day trades. Reuter proposed that the Vikings swap first-round picks with the Buffalo Bills, bumping them from 24th overall to 30th overall and then also acquiring a pair of fourth-round picks from Buffalo. This would be a no-brainer for Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
Vikings would be fools not to make this draft trade
Not only would Minnesota pick up two more selections with this trade but they'd also only move down a few spots. Sometimes when teams with late first-round picks move down, it's out of the first round entirely but that wouldn't be the case here. The Vikings would still own a first-round selection and would be the third-to-last team to draft someone in round one.
Reuter noted in his write-up that, by moving down, the team could add two fourth-round selections and could use that 30th overall pick on a defensive back. This feels like a slam dunk of a move for Minnesota.
The Bills are in win-now mode as long as they have Josh Allen so Brandon Beane isn't going to mind parting ways with multiple fourth-round picks. If they don't want those picks, the Vikings will be happy to move down a few spots in order to acquire them.
