Potential Day 3 quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft knows that the Las Vegas Raiders are a good fit for him

Despite signing former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith to a contract extension, the Las Vegas Raiders will still be looking at quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Now, they likely won't be doing it at pick No. 6, but they could on Day 3.

And, they don't need to at pick No. 6, as that pick is supposed to be used on a player that can contribute immediately and help win football games. The Raiders don't have the luxury of having a good roster, one good enough to be able to essentially waste the first year, maybe even two, of a first-round pick. That's what they would be doing if they drafted Shedeur Sanders or someone else.

However, taking a QB on Day 3 would certainly be ideal. And, this draft has a ton of guys that have some good potential, and sitting a year or two behind Geno Smith would be a good thing for a young quarterback, similar to what the Green Bay Packers did with Jordan Love.

If they did go get a quarterback on Day 3, there are plenty of players they should target. One of them already knows he's a good fit for the Raiders and the identity instilled within the franchise.

"It's been a surreal time for me, and I'm just trying to enjoy it," former Texas QB Quinn Ewers said on the Rick Eisen Show. "Coach Carroll was awesome, you know, he just is always talking about compete, compete, compete. I think he probably says that word 100 times a day.

"It would be super cool to be part of a program, part of a franchise that lives and dies by how they compete, it doesn't matter what you're doing, if you're in the building, you're either competing or you're not, there is no in between. I feel like that's kind of how I already live. That definitely would be cool [to be a Raider]."

Being a Raider isn't for everyone. And, yes, everyone probably says that about every franchise, but it's only really true for a few franchises around the league, like the Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and maybe a few others.

Not just anyone fits on the team or within the franchise. The Raiders are special. However, it feels like Ewers does have what it takes, and even if he didn't, he has what it takes to learn that after a few years behind Smith. Ewers was pretty good in college, too, and has a pretty high ceiling. But, unfortunately, he also has a low floor.

The Raiders could take a swing on a guy like him.
