Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer Lynn Swann will announce the team’s third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Swann will be live and on-site in Green Bay to announce the pick and any other second-round selections the Steelers could acquire.
Swann is one of four Hall of Famers who will participate in this tradition during the NFL Draft. All 32 teams have either a team legend or an active player who will be in Green Bay to announce the day two selections.
In the past, the Steelers have gone in the direction of legends and current players. For example, the late Franco Harris, a multiple time Super Bowl Champion with the Steelers, would often announce picks.
Current players, such as tight end Pat Freiermuth and outside linebacker Alex Highsmith, have both announced picks at different points in their career as well.
This is Swann’s first time doing it, however. He fills in as the Steelers’ legend from their Super Bowl IX team. A first-round pick by the team in the 1974 NFL Draft out of USC, Swann made legendary catches in the Super Bowl, including a juggling grab in the team’s Super Bowl XIII win over the Dallas Cowboys.
