Philadelphia Eagles may have found Fred Johnson's replacement at swing tackle with latest signing

According to NFL Network's Peter Schrager, the Eagles signed offensive tackle Kendall Lamm to a one-year deal.

"OT Kendall Lamm is signing a 1 year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, per sources. Jeff Stoutland gets the 32-year-old veteran for his Super Bowl winning offensive line," Schrager wrote on X on Monday, March 24.

Lamm, 32, originally went undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2015 and has spent the majority of his career in a backup role.

In 10 seasons, Lamm has appeared in 119 games at both tackle spots, making 44 starts. He has played a total of 973 snaps at left tackle and 1611 snaps at right tackle.

The Eagles mark the sixth team that Lamm has played for.

Other teams he's spent time with include the Houston Texans (2105-2018), Cleveland Browns (2019-2020), Tennessee Titans (2021), Detroit Lions (2022), and Miami Dolphins (2022-2024).

Lamm saw action in 15 games with nine starts for the Dolphins in 2024 before a back injury put him on Injured Reserve. He took 70 snaps at left guard and 441 snaps at right guard and allowed zero sacks.

At the end of the year, Lamm openly discussed retiring, however, the Eagles clearly convinced him to play for one more year.

"It's been among the more trying things that I've had to deal with," Lamm wrote on Instagram, via SI. "I have a disc in my left side and my back that's bulging into one of my nerves that's causing my entire left side to go numb. It has been one of the more trying things to try to sleep at night. It's been one of the more trying things trying to walk even that Sunday morning before the game, like I could barely feel certain things in my left side. But of course, we do, we try to do what we can for the team, and I know we wanted to make the playoffs, and playing is near and dear to me. It's a sacred thing, so I try my best to do whatever I can to help.

"But at the same time, as I've been told, this is nothing to play with, so the procedure will be done when it's done. And you know, I appreciate all the well wishes and everything. I know I said this might be my last year, and we'll cross that bridge when we get there."

It's good to have a veteran swing tackle back in the lineup after losing Johnson, and, of course, Howie Roseman had to have gotten him for a bargain deal.
