Patriots Trade Pitch Would Land Recent 10-Sack Edge for One Pick

An incredibly important offseason has officially begun for the New England Patriots.

Patriots Trade Pitch Would Land Recent 10-Sack Edge for One Pick

With a brand new coaching staff led by former Patriot player Mike Vrabel, the roster needs a complete overhaul as well after a 4-13 season.

A recent NESN.com article laid out a full blueprint for how New England could maximize its draft assets and cap space.

Some of the more commonly rumored moves are included, such as signing wide receiver Tee Higgins and drafting edge rusher Abdul Carter.

However, one of the more interesting moves is a trade involving Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Bryce Huff.

Huff was signed to a three-year, $51 million contract last offseason by the Eagles after putting up 10 sacks with the New York Jets.

However, after missing time due to injuries, other guys have stepped up and looked great, such as Josh Sweat, Nolan Smith, and Jalyx Hunt, all of whom wreaked havoc in the Super Bowl.

It's safe to say the Eagles don't need the 26-year-old and would rather not pay him that much to be a potential backup, so a trade would make sense.

In NESN's prediction, Huff would be moved to the Patriots for just the 219th pick.

New England has so many holes that it just needs talented players. Huff seems like that based on 2023, but his 2024 season was disappointing.

Given his contract and team situation, fans should keep an eye on Huff trade rumors this offseason.
