Patriots Make $44 Million Decision on Will Campbell

The New England Patriots selected LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell fourth overall during the 2025 NFL Draft. Campbell is expected to slide into the starting left tackle role for the Patriots in 2025.

Patriots Make $44 Million Decision on Will Campbell

Over a month since the 2025 NFL Draft, the Patriots have finally officially signed Campbell to his rookie contract. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Patriots have signed Campbell to a four-year, $43.66 million contract. Campbell will also get $28.39 million guaranteed as a signing bonus.

The Patriots spent a lot of money on their offensive line in the offseason. Campbell's rookie deal is another layer to the Patriots' off-season commitment to protecting Drake Maye.

While Campbell's signing isn't a surprise, it does officially cement Campbell as the Patriots' left tackle of the future. If the Patriots couldn't get a deal done, it'd be a disaster. Though it was very unlikely, no longer having to worry about their first-round pick being unsigned is nice.

Now that Campbell is officially signed, the Patriots' new-look offensive line is nearly complete. Only left guard is an unknown, as Cole Strange isn't guaranteed to earn the starting spot.

Center also presents an interesting conversation, as Jared Wilson and Garrett Bradbury are competing for the starting job. The only spots on the offensive line other than Campbell's left tackle spot that are solidified are Mike Onwenu at right guard and Morgan Moses at right tackle.

Now that Campbell signed his rookie deal, which was negotiated by Erick Burkhardt and Forrest Lamp of Roc National Sports, the Patriots officially have their left tackle of the future secured.

Protecting Drake Maye was a priority for the front office, and Campbell is the latest official member of the starting offensive line come the start of the season.
