Patrick Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to the top of the NFL since entering the league.
Mahomes has played eight seasons with the Chiefs, having led the organization to three Super Bowl titles. Kansas City is fresh off a Super Bowl appearance from last season, having suffered a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chiefs entered the matchup against the Eagles in search of their third straight title.
Amid the offseason, Kansas City shared a collaborative post with @espnnfl, @espnoriginals and @adamschefter.
"One of the most storied franchises in football history gives an inside look into a modern-day dynasty ," posted the Chiefs. "‘The Kingdom’ coming this Fall ."
Mahomes reacted to the announcement, sharing the Chiefs' post to his Instagram story. The Chiefs quarterback gave a shoutout to the news to over 6.7 million followers on social media.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to the No. 1 seed in the AFC, having won the AFC Championship before losing to the Eagles.
During the postseason, Mahomes and the Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills en route to the Super Bowl.
