The Green Bay Packers are ready to get rolling with training camp and also the 2024 season. Many rookies are looking forward to taking the field for the first time. There will be a lot of rookies to watch out for during training camp. The biggest story for the Packers in camp right now is that quarterback Jordan Love does not have a new contract yet.

The youth on the roster is extremely fun to watch and they hope to contribute once again this season. The rookies have a chance to make a name for themselves for the Packers this season. Some rookies like Jordan Morgan, Edgerrin Cooper, Marshawn Lloyd, and Javon Bullard will be some rookies to keep an eye on during training camp.

Green Bay will have high expectations this season. There could be some growing pains with the new defensive scheme this season. However, they hope it will be for the better toward the end of the 2024 season.

Anthony DiBona of Pro Football Network listed at least one wild card candidate for each NFL team entering training camp. For the Green Bay Packers, he chose rookie safety Javon Bullard. He was a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Georgia. DiBona said about Bullard:

“The Green Bay Packers underwent a makeover at safety this offseason after signing Xavier McKinney to a massive deal in free agency. The Packers also added multiple safeties in the 2024 NFL Draft, headlined by second-round pick Javon Bullard. The 21-year-old was a force at Georgia and could take Green Bay’s defense to another level in 2024.”

On the Packers depth chart, Bullard and McKinney are projected to be the starting safeties this season. Evan Williams and Anthony Johnson Jr. are projected to be the backup safeties for the Green Bay Packers this season. Bullard played in 12 games last season with the Georgia Bulldogs. He recorded 56 tackles, 1.0 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, zero sacks, and five pass deflections.

Even with having Bullard and McKinney on the roster, they have been mentioned in the past to bring in a player like Justin Simmons to the team. It would not hurt the Green Bay Packers to bring him in but, Javon Bullard starting as a rookie will have its ups and downs.
