The Green Bay Packers defeated the Baltimore Ravens 30-7 in their final game of the 2024 NFL preseason on Saturday afternoon. As good as the win was, there were some questions regarding the final makeup of the 53-man roster that were left unanswered. However, there were also some pretty incredible performances that may have earned others a spot on the 53-man roster
After each game, PFF analyzes game tape and gives each player that took the field a grade. Here, we will look at the Packers’ offense and their top five players against the Ravens.
As was the case in the Packers’ 27-2 loss to the Denver Broncos last week, no starters played in their final preseason game. Instead, players that are fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster were given every opportunity to earn a job.
For those that watched the game, it will not come as a big surprise that most of Green Bay’s best players according to PFF were offensive linemen and running backs.
1. Malik Heath
PFF Grade: 82.4
Game Stats: 4 receptions, 39 yards, 1 touchdown
Wide receiver Malik Heath made the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent in 2023. In 13 games last season, he had 15 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Heath is battling with Bo Melton for Green Bay’s fifth wide receiver spot. Both players had a touchdown reception against the Ravens.
That being said, there is a possibility that the Packers choose to take more than five wide receivers onto the 53-man roster to start the season.
2. Nate McCrary

PFF Grade: 81.7
Game Stats: 11 carries, 64 yards, 5.8 yards per carry
Running back Nate McCrary was recently signed by the Packers due to injuries to AJ Dillon and Marshawn Lloyd. These injuries have all but guaranteed that Emanuel Wilson will make the 53-man roster again. It also has opened up the possibility that another running back could start the season on the 53-man roster while Dillon and Lloyd start the year on injured reserve.
McCrary was second on the Packers in rushing attempts and rushing yards behind Ellis Merriweather, who had 16 carries for 74 yards.
3. Caleb Jones

PFF Grade: 78.8
Caleb Jones, who is a hulking six-foot-nine and 370 pounds, first signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He has only been activated for one game and has played just one snap (on special teams) since beginning his NFL career.
A left tackle, Jones is competing for a reserve role as a swing tackle. Whether or not he makes the 53-man roster will depend on how the team feels about Andre Dillard, a former Tennessee Titans first round pick, and others who have been competing for a spot during camp.
4. Travis Glover
PFF Grade: 76.5
A sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Travis Glover was selected because of his versatility and ability to play multiple positions. Against the Ravens, he started at right tackle and played 44 offensive snaps.
Like Jones, he is competing for a spot as a reserve, and whether or not he makes the 53-man roster may depend on if Green Bay chooses to take nine or ten offensive linemen.
5. Henry Pearson

PFF Grade: 75.9
Game Stats: 1 reception, 4 yards
A fullback by trade, Henry Pearson was on Green Bay’s practice squad last year and was elevated to the active roster twice. He played 11 offensive snaps, but did not receive a carry or target in the passing game. Pearson also played 23 special teams snaps in those games.
There are many who believe that Pearson could finally make the 53-man roster due to the aforementioned injuries to Dillon and Lloyd, or because he could take Tyler Davis’ spot as the fourth tight end and have a large role on special teams.
