49ers free agency: Aaron Banks is expected to receive top 6 guard money - Niners Nation

The NFL offseason is going to be a very busy one for all teams and fans will be very busy, too, over analyzing signings and missed signing, just like what Green Bay Packers fans are doing right now.

The Packers signed right guard Aaron Banks for $77 million for four years from the San Francisco 49ers, a move many thought came out of nowhere.

Instant reactions were not as positive as one would expect, despite the fact that he was the 49ers’ starting left guard for three seasons. Others think it is a risk because ‘he hasn’t proven anything’ yet.

One Packer fan appears tired of constant discontentment from some fellow supporters.

Sam Dekker, a legend of the Wisconsin Badgers basketball, calls out some people for not trusting the Packers management.

He wrote:Packers fans: we never sign anyone!

Packers: *sign a really good RG*

Packers fans: what the hell are we doing!

Over at the page of GBP Daily, a Packers dedicated fan page, Dekker seems to have found his people based on the comments.

Dekker is a true-blooded Wisconsinite. He was born in Sheboygan and played three seasons for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Green Bay Packers’ new signing

Banks has played four NFL seasons so far and started in 43 of his total 53 games.

Will the Packers get the most out of the money they’ve given to him? That is something to watch out for and he himself needs to prove.

For now, the so-called experts are not sold on the idea that the Packers spent that amount on him.

“He has talent, but durability and consistency has proven challenging for Banks, who seemed to regress in 2024. The Packers are giving the 2021 second-round pick a shot, however, hoping that Banks can help shore up the line that protects Jordan Love and opens lanes for Josh Jacobs,” one analyst from the New York Times wrote.
