Wisconsin is a small state and if you are an athlete, almost everyone will get to know you. This is how Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers became some sort of tourist site in a golf event over the weekend.
The Packers have started their organized team activities last week and Love has been busy preparing for the next season. However, that is not an obstacle for him to treat fans from time to time.
Graced by his presence was the spectators at the American Family Insurance Championship that featured Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly. Love was a great addition for the audiences who definitely enjoyed him being in the area.
Talking to reporters, the 26-year-old quarterback said he enjoyed his time in the AmFam for whom he is an ambassador.
“Just walking around, engaging with the fans,” he said.
“Everybody’s a little surprised sometimes when they’re watching golf and next thing you know I pop up. It’s fun just being out there, interacting. Definitely a lot of Packers fans out there.”
Love also took the time to talk to some fans and sign autographs for them.
Love is a people person and that is what his charity all about. He aims to bring people together through. sports.
The Packers quarterback launched the ‘Hands of 10ve’ last year with the aim of helping the youth become more engaged with sports through the help of everyone in the community.
“The main purpose is the three pillars that are important to my life,” Love said.
“Which is getting the youth involved in sports, because I feel like at a young age sports were such a big part of my life and kind of shaped a lot of who I am and the morals I have. The hard work, the work ethic, things like that and the relationships I’ve built with friends, mentors, coaches.”
Wisconsin has been blessed with a player that can be called the people’s champ. Just recently, Love headlined a charity baseball game that was also attended by other Packers players.
Love and company would want to have that affection back as the Packers start the season on September.
