The Green Bay Packers will be looking for Jordan Love to lead the franchise to their next championship.  The 2023 season ended with the Packers performing as one of the best teams in the league.  The offense specifically was firing on all cylinders.

Of course, the coaching staff played a huge role in Love’s success last season.  It will continue to be that way throughout the course of his career.

He had something to say about that coaching staff

According to Kenneth Teape of Packers Coverage:

With a full season of film to now diagnose, teams will have a better idea of how to combat an explosive Packers offense. Potentially the youngest team in the NFL for a second straight season, adjustments will have to be made.

Jordan Love didn’t give away any of the game plan but did confirm that new designs are being put in for Year 2. With a year of experience under his belt, head coach Matt LaFleur and the coaching staff can start opening things up even more this season.

“We know going into this year teams are going to have a better feel of what we do, what we did good,” Love said this offseason. “That’s their job — to try to figure out how to stop that. I think that’s the fun part about the NFL.

“At the end of the day, we’ve got a very good coaching staff that’s going to put us in the best position, and we’ll also be able to adjust to what defenses might be doing and taking away from us, and we’ll learn on the fly.”

One thing that the Green Bay Packers have working in their favor is continuity. Running back Aaron Jones and right guard Jon Runyan Jr. are the only players from the starting lineup in 2023 who aren’t returning.

Josh Jacobs is replacing Jones in the backfield, while the offensive line competition will be worth watching all offseason in Green Bay. The configuration could be different, but at least three players will be holdovers from last season if not four.

That should all result in another big season for Jordan Love. An ascending quarterback in the league entering Year 5 with the Green Bay Packers, the sky is the limit for the Utah State product.

The Packers are hoping to see Love start the 2024 season they way he finished the 2023 season.

Ever since the 2000 season, CBS Sports has listed its quarterbacks who have taken massive leaps. Douglas Clawson of CBS Sports wrote about the criteria of quarterback leaps by saying:

  • “There needs to be a statistical baseline. I started my search with quarterbacks who jumped at least a quarter of the league’s qualified passers from one season to the next in terms of expected points added (EPA) per play. EPA takes into account value added on all plays, from passes, sacks, scrambles and designed runs. It captures a quarterback’s entire impact better than a traditional stat like passer rating.

  • I used the eye test to refine the list, adding and subtracting quarterbacks from there. Numbers were a great place to start but not the end all, be all. For example, there are quarterbacks who qualified for the passer leaderboard, but clearly didn’t have enough playing time for anyone to believe they made “the leap.”

    • Traditionally, you might connect a quarterback leap to players in their first few seasons in the league. I looked at leaps of all flavors. I included Aaron Rodgers in 2020. He clearly took a step forward after the Jordan Love pick, winning back-to-back MVPs, following a few average seasons. “

Six different quarterbacks last season leaped according to this criteria. Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was one of those six quarterbacks who took this leap. The other five quarterbacks who leaped last season were C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans, Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams, and Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
