The Green Bay Packers defeated the Los Angeles Rams 24-19 on Sunday to improve to 3-2 on the year. In this one, wide receiver Romeo Doubs was suspended for one game by the team.
They also were without wide receiver Christian Watson due to an ankle injury against the Rams. Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Malik Heath were the wide receivers who saw the field in this game for Green Bay.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Provides Update On Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs After the Game
After the game was over, head coach Matt LaFleur spoke with the media and provided an update on wide receiver Romeo Doubs ahead of the Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. LaFleur said to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“I’m hopeful that he’ll come back and get ready to work.”
It will be interesting to see what kind of week Romeo Doubs will have when he does return. So far this season, he has caught 12 passes for 169 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 14.1 yards per catch. This is not the kind of year Doubs has imagined but will need to play a big role in this offense at some point.
Tucker Kraft Breakout Game On Sunday
With Doubs being sidelined, there was someone who needed to step up other than Jayden Reed. Many thought that Dontayvion Wicks was going to have the big game, but it was tight end Tucker Kraft who did instead. He had a 66-yard touchdown reception and a 7-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Jordan Love in the third quarter.
Kraft caught four passes for 88 yards receiving and two touchdowns in the game against the Los Angeles Rams. He has taken over for Luke Musgrave as the number-one tight end in this offense.
