The Green Bay Packers are looking to get back up on their feet following a Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at home. They are scheduled to take on the Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday on the road, with Jordan Love expected to make his second start since coming back from a knee injury.

Among the key weapons Love will be targeting downfield in the Rams game is wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who is coming off a productive performance, albeit in the 31-29 loss to the Vikings.

Wicks, however, also had a couple of drops in the Vikings game where he collected 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns on five receptions and 13 targets. That’s not an efficient catch-to-target ratio, and that’s something Wicks is looking to address. He has already identified the issue as well.

Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks said his recent drops were the result of taking his eyes off the ball before finishing the catch. Sounds like an easy fix.

Wicks could have a bigger role in the coming weeks with fellow wide receiver Christian Watson dealing with a lower-body injury. The 23-year-old Wicks also had a season-high 58 snaps versus Minnesota and he could even surpass that in Week 5 opposite the Rams, who are struggling on defense this season.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur also expressed his confidence in Wicks.

“I’m excited about him and what he can become, because we all see the talent,” LaFleur said Wednesday (h/t Kruse). “He is tough to guard on the line of scrimmage. I know what he’s capable of doing, we just have to get it out on a consistent basis.”
