Some of former Green Bay Packers stars are in London this Sunday for an NFL game between the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Before the start of that contest, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers along with his teammate and wide receiver Allen Lazard met on the field with Vikings running back Aaron Jones. The three used to play together as part of a dangerous Packers attack led by Rodgers, so there’s clearly a strong bond between the players even though they’re no longer operating within the same offense.
Rodgers and Lazard have been playing for the Jets since the 2023 NFL season, while Jones is just in his first year with the Vikings after leaving the Packers in free agency during the offseason.
Rodgers’ resume as Packers quarterback is a legendary one. He won four NFL Most Valuable Player awards with Green Bay, helped the team win the Super Bowl in 2011, and became a 10-time Pro Bowler when he was still with the Packers. He had 59,055 passing yards and 475 touchdowns against 105 interceptions in Green Bay colors.
Lazard, on the other hand, spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Packers, recording 2,236 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in 57 games in Green Bay uniform.
As for Jones, he emerged as a fantastic weapon on the ground for the Packers after the team got him in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. During his stint with the Packers, Jones rushed for 5,940 yards and 45 touchdowns to go with 2,076 and 18 receiving scores.
