The Green Bay Packers recently made an addition to their practice squad, signing former Cleveland Browns pass rusher Jeremiah Martin, who worked out for the team earlier this week. Martin was signed by the Browns last year after going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, but did not make the team. After he was released, he remained a free agent until the New York Giants picked him up on their practice squad in January.
New York released him in May and he returned to Cleveland for training camp. Once again, he did not make the team and was released.
While he has found a new home in Green Bay, the Packers now need to find someone else to add to their practice squad as one of their former draft picks was signed away from them soon after Martin was signed.
Green Bay Packers Defensive Lineman Jonathan Ford Was Signed by the Chicago Bears
On Wednesday afternoon, it was reported that the Chicago Bears have signed Jonathan Ford off of the Packers’ practice squad. Ford, a 2022 seventh round draft pick by Green Bay, has not appeared in an NFL regular season game yet, but is now a member of Chicago’s active roster.
Ford previously signed a reserve/futures contract with the Packers this past January. He did start the 2024 season on the injured list, but with a designation to return.
