One bold prediction for Chicago Bears No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams in 2024

Bears rookie QB will turn some heads...immediately!

2024 NFL Draft - Caleb Williams

Once the Chicago Bears drafted Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the excitement and expectations surrounding the organization soared and why wouldn’t it?

Entering the NFL as the top quarterback prospect, the former USC star has the talent to finally end the Bears long and frustrating search for a franchise signal caller.  Not only does he have the arm strength and similar traits to Patrick Mahomes to emphasize and make big plays, but he is also an effective pocket passer who won’t just rely on his feet to escape pressure.

Unlike past quarterbacks taken this high in the draft, what Williams has going for him is that the Bears have an offense in place to support his skillset.  Along with trading for Keenan Allen, the Bears drafted Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick to go with D.J. Moore and tight end Cole Kmet.  With playmakers around him, there’s a little less pressure for Williams to come in and be the savior although he will still have that pressure to be the savior.

How he responds to the hype and shines in the spotlight will be what determines his success in Year 1.  So far in organized team actives (OTAs), Caleb Williams has shown the ability to bounce back from adversity, although slight adversity.

The Bears rookie signal caller did have some struggles early in OTAs, but ended on a high note on Friday completing 13 of 15 passes in 7-on-7 drills with a nice touchdown completion to Moore which will be the start of a special connection between these two.

Caleb Williams will shine in his NFL debut

There will be a lot of dancing and celebrating in Chicago in 2024.  Williams will have his struggles and some learning moments but one NFL Mocks bold prediction for Caleb Williams is that he will throw two touchdown passes in this NFL regular season and home debut against the Tennessee Titans on Sept 8.

In a Bears’ victory to start the season, Williams will dazzle the home crowd with touchdown passes to Moore and fellow rookie Cole Kmet but will only through for 250 yards as the team will lean on their run game featuring prize free agent signing D’Andre Swift as the Bears won’t want to put too much pressure on their rookie but will allow him to show off his talent at the same time.

Both his accuracy and occasional big play in the game will set the tune for Williams in his rookie season.  Not the boldest of predictions given his talent, but his effectiveness in his first start will show that he is the real deal.
